Spiritual Significance

The Vel is the most sacred symbol of Lord Murugan (Arumuga, Karthikeya, Skanda, Subramanya), representing divine wisdom that pierces through ignorance. The Om finial represents the primordial sound of creation. The seven-wick lotus base symbolises the seven divine lights of Murugan’s grace and the seven chakras. Especially revered during Skanda Sashti, Thaipusam, Karthigai Deepam, and Pradosham.
